Shoreline Shapes was born from a love of the Outer Banks — the salt air, the weathered wood, the history, the memories, the way light hits the water at golden hour. Every piece we make carries a little of that magic.
Where it all began
What started as a hobby — a laser engraver in a craft room with lots of beach ideas — grew into something we never expected. We began making beach themed items for those who love the Outer Banks , and before long, craft events and shows caught our attention. We love the people and their stories, the memories, the history.
Today, Shoreline Shapes is a small but passionate studio. We design, engrave, and hand-paint every product ourselves, right here on the Outer Banks. No mass production. No shortcuts. Just honest craftsmanship and a deep respect for the materials we work with.
How we make it
Every Shoreline Shapes piece goes through the same careful process — from raw material to finished product.
Design
We sketch each design by hand before translating it into our laser software. Coastal motifs, custom lettering, and nature-inspired patterns are our specialty.
Engrave
Our laser engraver etches the design into wood, acrylic, or fabric with precision. The result is crisp, lasting detail that paint alone can't achieve.
Paint & Finish
Each piece is hand-painted using coastal color palettes — sea glass greens, sandy neutrals, deep navy, and sun-bleached whites. Then sealed for durability.
Quality Check
Before anything leaves the studio, we inspect every edge, every brushstroke. If it doesn't meet our standard, it doesn't ship.
